CD
Manufacturing - Finding The Right Vendor
If
you’re looking for CD manufacturing services there can be a lot of things and
different vendors to consider, so it’s important to be a
well-informed shopper. Here are some things to consider:
Who
Is Who?
If you have friends who had CDs manufactured in the recent past
you should ask them who they used and what type of experience they
had. Learning from someone’s personal experience is very helpful
but it’s usually better to ask a friend (rather than a stranger)
because you need to get feedback from someone you can trust. The
internet is a great tool to search for CD manufacturing vendors but it will provide literally hundreds of
results for you to consider - so try playing around with different
search phrases that are specific to your needs and that should
help to narrow the results.
The
Right Product:
You need to make sure that the company (or companies) you’re
considering actually supply the product you want.
Get
A Quotation:
Make sure you get a detailed written quotation from any company
you are considering. Review the quote thoroughly and question
anything that doesn’t look right or (just as importantly)
doesn’t appear to be included. Always ask about potential extra
charges, applicable taxes, shipping costs, ‘overs’ and
anything else that comes to mind… but make sure you get the
responses to your questions in writing.
Samples:
Regardless of what price you are quoted (be that a high price or a
low price) it’s always in your best interest to get samples from
the CD manufacturing vendor to show the standard of their work. Make
sure the sample you request is for the exact same product that you
wish to order.
How
Long?
Find out how long it will take to manufacture your order and then
get the vendor to explain the ordering procedure and production
time-table step by step. If you require your order to be shipped,
you will need to factor the cost and time in transit into your
decision making as well.
Here
Today... Gone Tomorrow?
Just because you see a slick looking website or a high placement
in your Google search doesn’t necessarily mean you’re going to
deal with a reputable and trustworthy CD manufacturing company. If you can’t actually visit their
site in person (they do have an actual location don’t they?) you
should always get on the phone to speak with them voice-to-voice.
Ask them lots of questions such as: How long they have been in
business, if they actually manufacture your product or if they are
a broker, how long they’ve been at their present location, can
you visit their store, how many employees do they have, can they
can send you samples… and anything else that springs to mind.
Terms
Of Business and Product Warranty:
Do not do business with a company that cannot provide you with
their “Terms Of Business” and their “Product Warranty” in
writing. You should read and understand all of this information -
so if there are any parts you do not understand you should get the
vendor to explain it to you clearly.
