Eco
Friendly Packaging for
CD Duplication and CD manufacturing
Packaging
products in the CD duplication and the CD manufacturing industry have long been dominated by the
consumption of plastic and paper, but at www.CDwest.ca
we’re proud to be front-and-center in supplying eco friendly
packaging alternatives for our disc products.
Low-plastic
and no-plastic packaging choices are at the forefront of our
efforts with printable board-stock proving to be the best
all-around material for ‘green’ requirements. The end result
is a completely recyclable product that is very attractive,
versatile and durable, and can be supplied in a multitude of
different configurations for your CD duplication or CD
manufacturing needs.
Leading
the way is our growing line of printed Eco Sleeves and Eco
Jackets, plus our Eco Case with it’s revolutionary
bio-degradable disc tray made from vegetable-based starch. “The
traditional retail CD package was entirely comprised of
plastic, paper and metal,” explains
Mike
Arnold, our General Manager, “so we have worked hard to provide
choices that reduce the negative impact on the environment.”
Additionally, if there’s a particular format or style you
require which doesn’t appear to be available it’s possible to
create a custom die-line to produce your sleeve for a surprisingly
low cost.
- Forest
Stewardship Council (FSC) certified board stock.
- 40%
recycled content.
- 100%
recyclable.
- Printed
using waterless printing technology.
- Printed
using vegetable based inks.
From
a simple single pocket style to multi-panels and multi-pockets our
sleeves and jackets combine packaging and print into a single
product, as opposed to traditional plastic cases which require
separate printed inserts in order for you to brand your product.
At www.CDwest.ca our eco
friendly packaging products
are able to carry as many discs as required, but you can use
additional pockets for inclusion of additional printed materials
in the form of folders or even stapled booklets – these too are
produced using the same environmentally sound materials and
processes as our board stock items.
While
replacing plastics with eco friendly packaging products gets the
bulk of the attention in the world of CD duplication and CD manufacturing,
even the printing machinery and inks are being taken into greater
consideration. The availability of vegetable based inks and
waterless printing technology are quickly winning favor over old
materials and technology. “We’re now at the point where
increasing demand is making the new ‘greener’ alternatives
much more cost effective.” concludes
Arnold
, “It’s definitely an exciting development.”
While
providing eco friendly packaging is a good start, there’s also a
great need to produce materials in a more effective and
sustainable manner. As an actual manufacturer of your discs we
have greater control over our products and processes so we are
able to offer smaller runs of products than what is the norm in
our industry. In many instances CDwest.ca is able to provide our
CD duplication and CD manufacturing packaging products in quantities of 300 and 500 units when most other
suppliers have a minimum requirement of 1000. This ‘less is
more’ approach allows you to purchase products in the actual
quantities that you require instead of being forced to order more
than you need. The end result is less consumption of resources by
the manufacturer, and less product that you would have to dispose
of should you not have use for it.
